German Expressionism

The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari:
Date it was made: 1920
Director: Robert Wiene
Its the first "true horror film".
The film had a profound influence to later filmmakers creating an atmosphere in their films.

 Nosferatu:
Date: shot in 1921, released in 1922
Director: F. W Murnau 
madness, and obsessive storyline.
The song "Nosferatu" (1977) from the album spectres, by American rock band Blue oyster cult is directly about the film.

Subjective point of view.  
influenced future motion picture photography and it turned technical attention towards experiment, and stimulated a new kind of camera-thinking
